How Broadhead Buddy™ Removes Stuck Broadheads

Broadhead Buddy™ uses controlled mechanical advantage to recover stuck broadheads, field points, and arrow inserts without prying or damaging your gear. Engage the tool, retract the blades, and recover your point safely.

Three easy steps to engage, extract, and recover with Broadhead Buddy

Watch It Work

Detailed Use Instructions
  • Unscrew the arrow shaft from the broadhead. If needed, remove only enough wood/material to expose the ferrule threads.
  • Align the Broadhead Buddy™ sleeve over the broadhead and thread the coupler onto the exposed threads.
  • Tighten the small knob until the tool is securely attached to the broadhead.
  • Push the sleeve into the tree or target surface to engage the pointed cleats.
  • Hold the sleeve securely and keep fingers clear of the slots and blades.
  • Tighten the large knob to draw the broadhead into the sleeve using controlled mechanical advantage.
  • Once the broadhead is loose and safely inside the sleeve, loosen the small knob and remove the broadhead from the tool.
  • Inspect the recovered broadhead before reuse. The user/operator is solely responsible for determining whether any recovered broadhead is safe and suitable for reuse.
  • If the insert remains attached to the broadhead, use the all-thread adapter to connect it to the coupler and pull both out together.

Stuck Broadhead, Field Point & Arrow Removal FAQ

Common questions about broadheads, field points, arrow pullers, and stuck arrow point removal.

What is Broadhead Buddy™?

Broadhead Buddy™ is a tool designed to help remove stuck broadheads, field points, and arrow inserts with controlled pulling force. It gives hunters and archers a safer alternative to grabbing blades, twisting with pliers, or damaging gear during removal.

What is a broadhead?

A broadhead is a hunting arrow point with sharp cutting blades. Broadheads are made for hunting, so they require careful handling and should never be grabbed by the blades when they are stuck in wood, dense targets, or other material.

Broadhead vs field point: what is the difference?

A field point is mainly used for practice and target shooting. A broadhead is a hunting point with sharp blades. Because broadheads have blades, they can be more dangerous and harder to remove if they become stuck in wood, dense targets, or other material.

What is a field point arrow?

A field point arrow is an arrow set up with a practice point instead of a bladed hunting broadhead. Field points are common for target shooting, but they can still become stuck and may need controlled pulling force to remove cleanly.

What is an arrow puller?

An arrow puller is usually a grip-style tool made to help pull an arrow shaft out of a target. That is different from a tool designed to remove a buried broadhead, field point, or insert when the stuck point itself needs to be recovered.

Can a regular arrow puller remove a stuck broadhead?

A regular arrow puller is usually made to grip the arrow shaft and pull it from a target. It may not help much if the broadhead, field point, or insert is buried or separated. Broadhead Buddy™ is designed to focus on the stuck point itself.

What should I do if my arrow gets stuck in a tree?

Using an arrow puller with the broadhead still attached, risks damage to the insert and shaft. Usually the arrow is not what is stuck; the arrow point is. Spin the shaft off the broadhead and then use Broadhead Buddy™ to extract the stuck broadhead with controlled force.

Can Broadhead Buddy™ remove field points too?

Yes. Broadhead Buddy™ is designed for more than broadheads. It can also help remove field points and inserts when used with the proper setup.

Can Broadhead Buddy™ remove a stuck arrow insert?

Yes. If the insert remains attached to the broadhead or field point, Broadhead Buddy™ can help pull the stuck point and insert together with the proper setup. Always inspect recovered parts before deciding whether to reuse them.

Will Broadhead Buddy™ work with fixed and mechanical broadheads?

Broadhead Buddy™ is designed to work with common 2-blade, 3-blade, and 4-blade broadheads. The goal is to surround the point and apply controlled force instead of grabbing the blades directly.

Is Broadhead Buddy™ only for hunting arrows?

No. It can be useful for bowhunters, crossbow users, target shooters, and anyone dealing with stuck arrow points. The main purpose is safe, controlled arrow point recovery.

Can Broadhead Buddy™ remove points from 3D archery targets?

Possibly. Broadhead Buddy™ can help remove stuck arrow points from dense targets when the point can be properly engaged and the target surface is firm enough for the tool to push against during operation.

Is Broadhead Buddy™ used for broadhead tuning?

No. Broadhead Buddy™ is not a broadhead tuning tool. However, a straight broadhead is critical to broadhead tuning and arrow flight. Broadhead Buddy™ is designed to pull stuck broadheads straight out with controlled force, helping reduce bending, twisting, or blade contact so recovered broadheads can be inspected and reused with more confidence.

Why not just use pliers?

Pliers can slip, damage blades, bend parts, or put your hand too close to sharp edges. A purpose-built removal tool gives you a more controlled way to pull the point without relying on side pressure or blade contact.
